In this engaging, peer-focused group, your child will participate in challenging adventures that combine structured learning with independent exploration. Each session includes:

  • Sensory-Motor Nature Investigations: Young explorers will engage their bodies and senses through targeted activities like texture scavenger hunts, proprioceptive challenges, and visual tracking games that strengthen sensory processing and motor planning skills

  • Executive Functioning Outdoor Adventures: Children will develop organization, planning, and sequencing abilities through activities like creating natural obstacle courses, following multi-step navigation challenges, and completing shelter-building projects

  • Social-Emotional Regulation in Nature: Our collaborative challenges provide natural opportunities to practice frustration tolerance, emotional awareness, and effective communication while developing peer relationships in a supportive outdoor setting

  • Gross Motor Nature Challenges: Children will develop strength, coordination, and balance through dynamic activities like log walking, rock hopping, hill climbing, and carrying natural materials of varying weights - all supporting postural control and bilateral coordination needed for classroom success

As an experienced pediatric occupational therapist, I'll guide each session while encouraging appropriate independence. Activities are designed to build confidence, resilience, and skills that support academic success and social-emotional development.

Parents/caregivers will participate alongside their children, with guidance from me on how and when to jump in. Weekly handouts provide discussion prompts and extension activities to continue learning between sessions.

Join us for 6 weeks of discovery, challenge, and meaningful connection with the natural world!
